Asphalt is flexible and budget-friendly, while concrete offers greater rigidity and durability for heavy-duty applications.
Our project bids typically do not include testing, permit fees, traffic control, surveys, utility adjustments, or bonds. If your project requires any of these items, please be sure to mention them in your bid request so we can provide an accurate proposal.
At NJ Pave, we provide sealcoating services for as long as weather conditions allow. Since proper application requires ground temperatures above 45°F, the sealcoating season in New Jersey typically ends by mid-October.
Sealcoating is a key part of any pavement maintenance plan. Applied every 2–3 years, it helps prevent deterioration while enhancing the appearance of your asphalt. Sealcoating extends pavement life by improving flexibility, slowing oxidation, and reducing water penetration. It also protects against UV damage, minimizes the impact of freeze-thaw cycles, and resists oil and gas spills—making your pavement easier to clean and maintain.
Even during the winter months, NJ Pave can handle a variety of pavement repairs. We perform all three types of patching—skin, remove & replace (R&R), and infrared—to address issues like severe potholes caused by New Jersey’s freeze/thaw cycles. Crack filling is another service available year-round, provided the ground is dry.
However, services like sealcoating and asphalt overlays require ground temperatures above 45°F to ensure proper curing. When applied in colder conditions, the material may not set correctly and can lead to flaking.
After paving, asphalt requires a curing period—typically between six months and one year.

With proper installation and regular maintenance, asphalt paving can last 15–25 years, even with New Jersey’s heat and rain.
